Like their cousins the night markets, hawker centers (or hawker courts, whichever you prefer to call them) are places where you can grab a quick bite to eat during the nighttime hours after working a grueling evening shift or when the midnight munchies come on! Many hawker centers – particularly the ones in multicultural/multi-ethnic nations such as Singapore and Malaysia – offer a wide range of cuisines ranging from the spicy curry-flavored dishes of Thailand, India, and Malaysia to Chinese favorites such as chicken fried rice and tofu.
