A staple of Yonghe district since the 1970s, Lehua has long been one of greater Taipei’s most beloved night markets. Its offerings of cuisines from home and abroad has sent visitors flocking there on a nightly basis! Lehua is also the place for fanboys and fangirls to pick up figurines of their favorite anime/manga characters and for fashionistas to snap up a good deal on some of the latest designer clothing. Of course, for someone looking for some necessary items for the home or a tourist looking for a special gift to take back home, Lehua is the place to find those!
The Lehua Night Market was closed by authorities in New Taipei City sometime in late 2015 or 2016 due to complaints from locals about “dangers” caused by the presence of vendors from the night market. However, as of mid-2017, Lehua Night Market has not only seemingly re-opened its doors, but has also become the first night market in Taiwan to become eco-friendly by requiring visitors to bring their own bags and eating utensils!
The Lehua Night Market is open every evening from 5 pm-1 am.
