Shuangcheng Street Night Market (Shuangcheng Food Street)

A daytime view of the Shuangcheng Street Night Market, aka Shuangcheng Food Street circa 2009.

One of Taipei’s first localized (and day) markets is the Shuangcheng Street Night Market.

This night market is relatively small compared to other night markets in the city, but it has been going strong for over four decades and many of the vendors and food stalls have been here ever since the market’s opening day! Since it first opened in the ’70s, Shuangcheng has made numerous appearances on Taiwanese cooking shows and a number of its vendors have managed to win a few national food contests!

Shuangcheng Street Night Market is open 24 hours a day, making it a day market as well as a night market!
