Ximending Night Market

The Ximending Night Market in December 2006.

Taipei, Taiwan’s Ximending district is the fashion, cultural, and social capital of Taipei and is often compared to Tokyo’s Harajuku and Shibuya districts (with which it shares some historical parallels and origins).

Being surrounded by upscale department stores selling top brand names, the Ximending Night Market has picked up the vibe emanating from the surrounding businesses. In fact, it has become an establishment frequented every night by fashionable young people looking for a good deal on top brand name designer clothes as well as ordinary people looking for some kitchen necessities and foreign tourists wanting to sample Chinese cuisine!

The Ximending Night Market is the perfect place to pick up a cup of ice cream or some other nice, cold dessert to eat while hitting all the nearby stores on a hot summer night or to find a special souvenir from Taiwan to take home!
