For the lover of Thai handicrafts and traditional items – and Isaan (Northern) Thai crafts in particular – it doesn’t get much better than Chiang Mai’s Sunday Evening Market.

The Sunday Evening Market has an abundance of stalls selling mainly traditional Thai arts and crafts. You’ll find a little bit of everything ranging from handmade umbrellas to handcarved elephants to paintings, lanterns, traditional purses, and much more. In addition to the handicrafts, there are also a few stalls selling the usual household accessories, clothing, shoes, and so on.

The Sunday Evening Market stretches down the entire length of Chiang Mai’s Ratchadamnoen Road, so there’s plenty of stalls to explore and browse through!

And as you may have guessed from the name, the Sunday Evening Market is held every Sunday evening!
